Just a few years ago extremism was a topic that was really on the fringe of society. It is only since the Covid-19 pandemic, the storming of the Capitol building and the war in Ukraine that radicalisation has become a mass phenomenon. That is the take of extremism researcher Dr Julia Ebner. In her book on mass radicalisation (“Massenradikalisierung”) she looks into the following pressing questions: Why are so many people susceptible to radical ideas? What structures and mechanisms are behind all this? And what can we do to protect our democracy from extremist ideas and radicalisation?
Join extremism researcher Dr Julia Ebner to find answers to these questions. Fellow walkers will have the opportunity to put questions to the expert and also engage in one-to-one discussion with her.
